There are really delicious baked goods with a cup of coffee, but the prices are going through the roof!
The Baumkuchen from here is incredibly delicious. Due to the corona we could only take away and not eat on site. The service was very friendly. The prices are not comparable to those in the supermarket. But nobody should draw this comparison either. The quality of the local tree cake is unsurpassed. You can taste immediately that real experts are at work here and prepare really delicious Baumkuchen. Be sure to come by and buy something.
Baumkuchen ok, cappuccino tasty but very small and the staff not very friendly.
lovely little cafe. Very friendly service. You have to see it to see it. We had reservations.
The café looks a bit antiquated. The cake is excellent. Loans. 😊
The Baumkuchen are very expensive and we didn't even find them tasty.
Very good cake. In times of Covid-19 it is essential to reserve by phone, at least on a Saturday afternoon it was very full and guests without a reservation left again. The distances between the tables seem very small in times of a pandemic. Overall, what you would expect from a cafe, the waiting times were moderate despite the very high occupancy and the staff friendly. With a little luck, you can get hold of a parking space nearby.
Whenever I'm in Altmark, I stop by for a coffee and a tree cake. I like the original.
Oh man, really delicious, very nice girls in the service and the ladies' toilets were really great! We recommend. Of course you can buy Baumkuchen here or enjoy them on site!
It's my first time here today and I'm very excited about this great coffee 👍👍. I know that it might not fit in here, but the toilets are absolutely great 👍👍😄
Goes so. Coffee and cake average and nothing special. Service could also be a little friendlier. Card payment was not possible!
Very nice staff, good selection of cakes, very tasty, good value for money! Yes, on average the clientele is older, but hello we live in the 21st century! We will definitely be back :)
Very tasty cakes and, as a special highlight, permanent sound with German pop music, but it's also a dance café, so the rating is also positive positiv
Was afraid that the nice coffee with a long tree cake tradition (since 1844 !!!) would fall victim to Corona. It's not that busy right now, but it seems to be working. The Baumkuchen in different variations is great, as always, and the coffee was delicious too.
Delicious Baumkuchen, nice cafe ', there is a covered cafe garden outside. You order at the counter and the order is brought to the table. Special requests will be taken into account. Highly recommended. You can also order the Baumkuchen online and on weekends you can watch the specialty being made.
Bought 4 bags of tree cake tops at € 7.50 in the shop. Nobody at home was enthusiastic about it. I myself have never eaten such bad dry and without recognizable annual rings. This is written by a trained pastry chef.
Very nice cafe with friendly staff. The atmosphere invites you to have coffee and cake. Highly recommended.
Not so great. Pop music in the background and a somewhat unfriendly employee behind the counter who are dressed in traditional costumes. Here an attempt is made to draw a local picture for older tourists, something that actually does not exist in the Altmark. Conclusion: rather nothing for everyone under 80. There are better places to eat Baumkuchen in Salzwedel.
Pretty close to being a 1980s museum, complete with loud schlager-music from those days. The Baumkuchen here is famous, although I personally found it to be dry and not tasty. I think you can get much better elsewhere
Exquisite Cafe in a small town. Popular for local specialty Baum Kuchen
Delicious tree cake and latte. Varied selection of pies, great nostalgic flair. Baking device for tree cake in the middle of the cafe. Very nice staff in very nice costumes. Covered terrace area, quiet but close to downtown. Always worth a visit.
A very nice and well furnished cafe. The decor was very nice, it is very nostalgic and should remind you of the 19th century. When we visited this cafe we also had some luck and the Baumkuchen, the specialty of the house was just fresh and prepared live. Of course we ate Baumkuchen, which was very good in taste and the prices were reasonable. The waitresses were all nice and attentive.
The café to visit in Salzwedel. Three types of their traditional “Baumkuchen” (dark and white chocolate and eggnog) plus a small jar of coffee cost €10.
